Rolf Hind will be leading a performance of GAY GUERILLA by African-American composer Julius Eastman (1940- 1990) and will be accompanied by 3 other pianists: Siwan Rhys, Yfat Soul Zisso and Steven Giles.
In a career that has taken him all over the world in the last fifteen years, Rolf Hind has worked with many of the greatest names in 20th and 21st century contemporary classical music. He has performed at all the major European new music festivals, appeared five times at the Proms, and played in Carnegie Hall and Sydney Opera House.
Rolf Hind is a professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and in recognition of his high standing within British music, Rolf was for two years Artistic Director of the Society for the Promotion of New Music.
Keith Potter of The Independent called him “One of the rare examples of a performer who can make a successful career as a composer”. Recent commissions include Eye of Fire and "a single hair, a jasmine petal, seven mattresses, a pea.." were both shortlisted for a British Composers Award.
